For the first time in Egypt … Millions in compensation to citizens
The Egyptian Ministry of Manpower has delivered accident insurance checks to 19 families of dead and injured illegal workers from 9 provinces.
The total compensation amounted to one million 952 thousand pounds sterling in compensation through an insurance policy in case of partial or total disability or death, which was issued by the Ministry in cooperation with the company to protect illegal workers and their families and take care of their social and health.
And in a press statement today, Tuesday, it says that Manal Abdel Aziz, head of the Central Office of the Minister’s Office, presented the certificates on behalf of Minister Hassan Shehata, the Minister of Manpower, adding that these compensations are provided as part of the Presidential Initiative, Living with Dignity, and that this time it included the death of 10 disabled workers regularly registered with the labor force offices in the governorates of Giza, Qena, Sohag, Minya, Luxor, Sharqiya, Faiyum and Beni Suef.
The statement stated that the total compensation to the families of the dead workers amounted to one million 800 thousand pounds sterling, and the compensation paid also included compensation for the percentage of disability for 9 affected workers from the provinces of Cairo, Giza, Beni Suef and Minya in the amount of 152 thousand 920 pounds sterling as compensation rates and treatment costs for affected cases.
The head of the central administration expressed condolences to the families of the dead workers, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, emphasizing the readiness of the ministry to take care of illegal workers and their families, and listened to the demands of some families.
She emphasized that Minister Hassan Shehata constantly instructs to make every effort to protect and care for irregular protection through the personnel departments in the governorates, in cooperation and coordination with all concerned bodies, to provide the necessary assistance to working families in obtaining their contributions.
The certificates were presented by the Ministry, Nashwa Al-Sobki, Director General of the General Directorate of Accounting and Investment of Irregular Labor, Shaima Abdullah, Director General of the General Directorate of Illegal Employment, Helmi Abu Zahra, Director General of the General Directorate of Employment Data and Establishment, Ashraf Eid , researcher at the Department, and from the Misr Insurance Company Naglaa Fathi, employee of the insurance company.
