French Imports of Algerian Gas Rise by 92.1%
According to a report from Algerian newspaper Al-Shorouk, the first half of this year saw a significant increase of 92.1% in French imports of Algerian gas. This accounts for roughly half of the total gas imported by France.
Algerian Gas: A Vital Energy Source for France
The Energy website, as cited by Al-Shorouk, highlights that Algerian gas imports to France have reached 49.9% of France’s total gas imports. This makes Algerian gas the most crucial source of energy for France.
Valued at $1.6 Billion
A document reviewed by the Energy website, included in the economic message of the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, estimates the value of these gas imports at $1.6 billion.
Increased Hydrocarbon Exports
The Energy website also reports a significant growth of 35.1% in Algerian hydrocarbon exports to France during the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year.
9.6% Rise in Algerian Petroleum Imports
Furthermore, French imports of Algerian petroleum products have increased by 9.6% in the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year.
