The German national football team achieved victory against the French in a friendly match held in Dortmund. The match ended with a score of 2:1, with goals from Thomas Mueller in the 4th minute and Leroy Sane in the 87th minute for the hosts. Antoine Griezmann managed to score a penalty kick in the 89th minute for the French team.

Hans-Dieter Flick was dismissed as the coach of the German national team on Sunday. In the friendly match, the duties of the head coach were performed by Rudi Völler, the managing director of the German national team.

The German team has been unable to secure a victory in their last five matches. They are currently participating in friendly matches only as they will not be able to compete in the 2024 European Championship qualifiers due to hosting the next tournament.
