Thierry Henry, the former star of Arsenal, Barcelona and the French national team, is a candidate for an exceptional mission in his football career.

And the French newspaper L’Equipe reported that Henry is a candidate to head the French women’s team instead of Corine Diacre, who was sacked last week.

She added that Henry’s candidacy is of great interest to the French Football Federation, which has formed a four-member committee to select a new coach for the women’s national team.

Jean-Michel Ola, President of Olympique Lyon, is the most visible name in the Quartet and believes that the women’s national team coach must have charisma and leadership qualities.

L’Equipe adds: “Thierry Henry is regarded as one of the greatest footballers of his generation, having won numerous titles and awards throughout his football career.”

At training level, Henry worked as an assistant coach for Spaniard Roberto Martínez with the Belgian national team, in addition to two experiences with Canada’s Montreal Impact and France’s Monaco.

Thierry Henry currently works at the Amazon Prime Video analytics studio.
