Honoring the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War in Bolivia

Buenos Aires, May 9 – The Russian Embassy has held a number of events dedicated to Victory Day, the head of the diplomatic mission, Mikhail Ledenev, told the News Agency.

He added that Rosatom employees, who participated in the construction of the world’s highest nuclear research and technology center in Bolivia, came to lay flowers.

The commemorative plaque is located at the entrance to the diplomatic mission. Here, in Russian and Spanish, the words are engraved: “1941-1945. In memory of the heroes – defenders of the Motherland in the Great Patriotic War.”

It is noteworthy that representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country’s leadership, members of the popular Bolivian group Cala Marca and journalists of leading media attended the official reception in honor of Victory Day. Bolivians sang songs of the war years in Russian. In addition, a film screening of the film “Rzhev” was held at the embassy, ​​\u200b\u200ba concert was also held at the La Paz Municipal Theater, and the “Memory Garden” was held in the city of Santa Cruz.

“Everything went well,” Ledenev assured.

“Immortal Regiment” is a patriotic action that is being held in Russia and a number of countries near and far abroad to perpetuate the memory of the participants and victims of the Great Patriotic War. It was held for the first time on May 9, 2012 in Tomsk on the initiative of local journalists, and in 2013 it became nationwide.
