A former colleague of Czech hockey player Jaromir Jagr, Josef Zajic, recently shared an interesting story about Jagr’s early days playing for “Kladno” in Czechoslovakia. Zajic revealed that during a break in one of his first matches, Jagr started eating bread and lard.
Jagr’s Long Career
In a recent statement, the 51-year-old Jagr, who still plays for Kladno, expressed his readiness to begin his 36th season as a professional hockey player.
Jagr’s achievements in hockey are impressive. He was part of the Czech national team that won the Olympic gold medal in Nagano in 1998 and a bronze medal in Turin in 2006. He also won two world championships (2005, 2010) and two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL (1991, 1992).
