Hunter Biden Charged with Weapons Violation and Concealing Drug Use
In a recent development, Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, has been criminally charged with a weapons violation due to his drug addiction.
The Accusation
Hunter Biden, 53, has been accused of concealing his drug use while purchasing weapons back in 2018.
Plea Agreement Falls Through
Previously, a planned plea agreement with the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office on these charges had fallen through.
Trump’s Involvement
Former US President Donald Trump, who is expected to be Joe Biden’s rival in the upcoming presidential elections, is currently facing four separate criminal trials.
Reaction from Trump Jr.
Donald Trump Jr., son of Donald Trump, posted on X: “Now that Hunter Biden has been indicted, how many minutes until Biden’s corrupt DOJ drops another Trump indictment to change the narrative? It’s nice to see something happen, although this is probably the excuse the Justice Department will use to pretend to be fair when they slap him on the wrist!”

Ongoing Tax Investigation
The tax investigation into Hunter Biden is still ongoing. Special counsel David Weiss has previously stated that any potential charges would need to be brought in either the District of Columbia or the Los Angeles-based Central District of California.
Impeachment Inquiry
Just two days ago, House Republicans initiated an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden regarding Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings. The White House criticized this step, describing it as baseless and politically motivated.
Response from Hunter Biden’s Attorney
Hunter Biden’s attorney, Abby Lowell, stated, “As expected, prosecutors today filed charges they deemed unwarranted just six weeks ago after a five-year investigation into this case. The evidence on this matter has not changed in the last six weeks, but the law has changed and so has the inappropriate partisan interference by MAGA Republicans in this process.”
No Comments from the White House and Vice
The White House declined to comment on this matter, and a Vice spokesperson also declined to comment.
Potential Constitutional Challenge
Some legal experts believe that any gun-related charges against Hunter Biden could face a constitutional challenge. This comes after a landmark Supreme Court ruling last year that expanded gun rights under the Second Amendment to the US Constitution, protecting the right to bear arms.
