Moscow, February 5 – Hasan Salihamidzic, sporting director of Bayern Munich and the Germany national football team, Manuel Neuer, said they put his personal interests ahead of the club’s interests.
In an interview with The Athletic and Süddeutsche Zeitung, Neuer expressed his displeasure with the firing of Bayern’s goalkeeping coach in January, Tony Tapalović. The guard said he “felt as if his heart had been ripped out”. Bayern chief executive Oliver Kahn said Neuer could face a fine for an interview he gave without the club’s consent.
In December, Neuer, 36, fractured his leg while skiing on holiday. It was reported that the goalkeeper had a successful operation and will miss the rest of the season. In connection with the injury of the main goalkeeper, Bayern signed a contract with goalkeeper Jan Sommer in January.
