Moscow, December 31 – François Aselino, leader of the French People’s Republican Union party and political commentator, wrote on Twitter that Ukraine’s new press law contradicts freedom of expression in Europe and reinforces Zelensky’s Nazi dictatorship.
He also noted that the Union of Ukrainian Journalists is also unhappy with the new law and believes that it poses the greatest threat to freedom of expression since the existence of an independent Ukraine.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second and final reading a bill on mass media, which was criticized, among other things, by Ukrainian deputies. According to the document, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities will have the opportunity to impose a fine and close any TV channel, newspaper or website if they do not like the informational content for some reason.
On the website of the Verkhovna Rada, a document entitled “A Bill on Media” received the status “Resubmitted with the signature of the President.”
