Investigation underway by FIA on fatal passenger accident in Croatia

Moscow, April 19 – Team captain Cyril Abiteboul said the FIA and Hyundai Motorsport would investigate the crash in Croatia that killed Irish driver Craig Breen.
Brin died in an accident while testing ahead of the World Rally Classic (WRC) competition in Croatia on April 13th. The rider was 33 years old, and had been in the stages of the World Rally Championship since 2009. He had eight podiums to his credit.
Abiteboul said in a press conference, Wednesday, that the accident occurred at a relatively low speed. According to him, the driver’s car crashed into a wooden fence, which broke through the driver’s side window.

Abiteboul also said Brin was buried on Tuesday. The team will hold a series of celebrations in the rider’s honor next weekend at the WRC Tour in Croatia.
