Iran and Saudi Arabia unveil joint development blueprint

Executive Director of the National Iranian Oil Company Mohsen Hajset Mehr confirmed that there is no yet undiscovered common ground with Saudi Arabia, pointing to the beginning of a new stage of cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian official indicated that the plan has been defined for all fields that are jointly used by Iran and Saudi Arabia, and the necessary permits have been obtained for various operations, including production increase, production maintenance and new development.
The executive director of the National Iranian Oil Company added that two companies, Petropars and offshore facilities, are working on oil production at the Foruzan oil field, and an increase in new production from this field will be announced soon.
He indicated that a contract had been signed to develop the Farzad-B gas field, indicating that Tehran is in the process of building a new platform, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year after receiving Economic Council approval. to develop this field. Petropars operates as a contractor.
“We do not have a common field with Saudi Arabia, which has not yet been determined. In addition, we have now begun preliminary work on the implementation of joint cooperation after the resumption of relations with Riyadh,” he said.
On the other hand, the General Director of the National Iranian Oil Company confirmed the company’s readiness to start drilling work at the Arash field with the attraction of large financial resources, provided that work will begin as soon as conditions are ready.
He added that a development plan for the Farzad Alef gas field was presented to the board of directors of the National Oil Company, and construction of a platform for this field will also begin in the near future, indicating that our plans for the development of the Farzad Alef and B field are comprehensive.
