Israeli Forces Threaten to Bomb Gaza Hospital, Palestinian Red Crescent Society Warns
Israeli Forces Threaten to Bomb Gaza Hospital Hosting Displaced People
Israeli forces have issued threats to bomb one of the few remaining hospitals in Gaza, which currently houses around 12,000 displaced people, as announced by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society on Friday.
The humanitarian organization expressed its concerns on its website, stating, “This place may turn to ashes if those threats are carried out.” They also questioned whether there is a global force capable of stopping the Israeli occupation army’s intentions to bomb hospitals where innocent civilians seek refuge.
Urgent action is being urged by the society in order to prevent “another disaster like Al-Ahli Hospital.” They call upon the international community to intervene promptly.
Despite experts dismissing the Israeli forces’ denial of involvement in the bombing, the responsibility for the airstrike on Ahli Baptist Hospital, which resulted in the death of at least 471 individuals and countless injuries, was denied by Israel.
The ongoing deadly conflict commenced on October 7 when Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a surprise attack involving rocket launches and infiltration into Israel by land, sea, and air.
Hamas claims that this incursion is in response to the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the escalating violence caused by Israeli settlers.
In response, the Israeli army launched Operation Iron Swords, targeting Hamas locations in the Gaza Strip.
In addition to the anticipated ground invasion, Israel implemented a “total blockade” of Gaza, resulting in a scarcity of electricity, water, food, fuel, and medical supplies.
