Italy supplies its army with a new batch of amphibious armored personnel carriers

The Naval News website, which specializes in military matters, said that Italy is seeking to equip its fleet with new amphibious armored vehicles.

According to the site, “Last December, the Italian Navy applied for Iveco Defense Vehicles (IDV) for 36 VBA amphibious armored personnel carriers.”

The site indicates that the possibility of obtaining new armored vehicles has not been announced, but it is part of the program proposed by Italy to modernize and update the mechanisms of the Navy in its army.

The VBA soldiers transport vehicles are amphibious armored vehicles capable of operating in rough terrain, and in water they can move at a speed of approximately 11 km / h, and their armor is able to protect their crews and the soldiers inside from medium-caliber bullets. and light weapons and from fragments of mines.

These vehicles can be armed with HITROLE Light remote-controlled turrets, 40mm grenade launchers and 5.56, 7.62 and 12.7mm machine guns.
