KHL Teams Smash Record in Gagarin Cup Opening Round

Moscow, March 11 – Continental Hockey League (KHL) clubs have broken the Gagarin Cup first-round performance record, scoring a total of 248 goals, the league’s press service reports.
The previous achievement was set in the first round of the Gagarin Cup in 2011, when a total of 237 goals were scored.
Also the record for the first rounds of the playoffs was the average performance of 5.77 goals per game.

Until Saturday, five teams overcame the 1/8 barrier of the Gagarin Cup finals: Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Avangard Omsk, Admiral Vladivostok, Ak Bars Kazan and ISKA St. Petersburg.
