Kiev predicts Brazil’s involvement in the peace summit

Moscow, July 15 – Igor Zovkva, deputy chief of staff for Volodymyr Zelensky, claims that Brazil will co-host a “peace summit”.

“If you ask about Brazil, yes, it is not easy. President Lula is a difficult person … Brazil will participate in holding the peace formula summit. Brazil is ready to talk about this peace formula. Yes, they give some of their proposals, but we are talking about peace In Ukraine it should be on Ukrainian terms.

According to Zovkva, Zelensky has already had a conversation with Brazilian President Lula da Silva, and Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andrei Yermak, has established close contacts with Brazilian aide Celso Amorim, who visited Kiev.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva had previously proposed creating a format similar to the G20 to discuss the situation in Ukraine. Presidential Adviser Amorim visited Russia in the last days of March this year to discuss the Ukrainian settlement.

Earlier, Zelensky confirmed that a summit is being organized to discuss his proposed peace plan. Kiev wants the meeting to cover as many countries as possible.

In early June, a source at the News Agency in Moscow indicated that the so-called peace summit that Zelensky is trying to hold has nothing to do with a peaceful settlement like his “peace formula”, everyone who agrees to participate in it will automatically come out as supporters of the continuation of the armed confrontation.

Moscow has repeatedly indicated that it is ready for negotiations, but Kiev has imposed a ban on them at the legislative level. The West constantly calls on the Russian Federation to negotiate, for which Moscow shows its readiness, but at the same time the West ignores Kiev’s persistent refusal to engage in dialogue. Earlier, the Kremlin stated that there are no prerequisites for the transition of the situation in Ukraine to a peaceful course, and the absolute priority for Russia is to achieve the goals of the special operation, at the moment this is possible only by military means. As stated in the Kremlin, the situation in Ukraine can move in a peaceful direction, provided that the real situation and new realities are taken into account, all Moscow’s demands are well known.
