Kostomarov’s Long-Term Stay in Intensive Care Reported by Media

Moscow, April 3 – The Olympic champion in figure dancing Roman Kostomarov will remain in intensive care for a long time, a source close to the former figure skater told RBC Sport.
Doctors managed to stabilize Kostomarov’s condition. However, for further recovery and preparation for prosthetics, the former skier will not be transferred to a regular ward.

Kostomarov was hospitalized in early January with pneumonia. In February, it became known that the former athlete had sepsis, which is why doctors amputated part of his leg and several fingers on his right hand. In March, a the News Agency source reported that all fingers on his left hand had been removed.
