Kuwait Oil Company Issues State of Emergency
The Kuwait Oil Company declared a state of emergency in response to the oil spill in the west of the country, confirming that production operations were not affected and that there were casualties as a result of the spill.
Kuwait Oil Company spokesman Qusay Al-Amer said in a statement that “a state of emergency has been declared as a result of the oil leak.”
Al-Amer confirmed that no one was injured in the leak, noting that “the production operations were not affected other than that no toxic gases were found at the accident site.”
Al-Amer noted that the relevant teams of the Kuwait Oil Company are on site and are dealing with the accident in accordance with the company’s procedures, noting that “the company will report on the latest developments and developments regarding the accident.”
