And Barça owes the merit for this victory to their midfield star Pedri, who scored the only goal of the match in the 18th minute.

Barcelona have solidified their lead to 56 points and are now 11 points clear of their closest rivals Real Madrid, who have a postponed match in their arsenal.

On the other hand, Villarreal’s balance sheet is stuck in eighth place with 31 points.
