Maduro receives invitation from Lavrov on Putin’s behalf for a visit to Russia

CARACAS, April 19 – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a meeting with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, handed him an invitation to Russia from President Vladimir Putin.

Maduro saluted the Russian delegation and stressed that he knew “how fruitful the work was in Brazil and now in Venezuela.”

We will continue to work on themes that unite us. <...> I always watch you move around the world. “And always with the truth,” said President Maduro.

The meeting takes place in the official residence of the Venezuelan leader, Miraflores Palace.

Prior to that, Lavrov had already met in Caracas with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil and Vice President Delcy Rodriguez.
