Marchenko described the first triple-double in the National Hockey League as a dream come true

Moscow, January 8 – Forward of the Russian “Columbus Blue Jackets” Kirill Marchenko said that the first hat-trick in the National Hockey League (NHL) was the embodiment of his dream.
Marchenko scored three goals in a present-day 4-3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, becoming the first NHL rookie in the 2022-23 season to score a hat-trick.

“Marchenko is very good at coaching,” Columbus coach Brad Larsen said. “He’s eager to learn. It’s not just about offense. He comes up with really good questions and wants to watch videos of some points to advance.”
And Marchenko, who scored eight goals in 15 matches, became the sixth rookie in Columbus history to score a hat-trick.
