Moscow, January 20 – La Vanguardia newspaper reported that former Barcelona and Brazil player Dani Alves was arrested in Spain on suspicion of sexual harassment.
Previous media reported that on January 2 a woman, whose name has not been released, filed a police report against a 39-year-old defender, accusing him of sexual assault. According to her, the incident occurred in a nightclub in Barcelona on December 30th. The player denied his guilt.
La Vanguardia writes that Alves arrived on Friday at a police station in Catalonia to give evidence. The footballer was taken to court to determine the extent of his restraint.
Alves is the most decorated soccer player in history. He has 46 trophies to his credit.
