Moscow, May 3 – The Saudi government is ready to make a contract offer to Argentine Paris Saint-Germain player Lionel Messi, according to The Telegraph.
L’Equipe reported earlier that Paris Saint-Germain decided not to renew Messi’s contract. This was one of the consequences of Messi’s unauthorized departure to Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the player being suspended from the first team for two weeks. According to media reports, Messi left for Riyadh after losing to Lorient in the match of the 33rd round of the French Championship (1: 3), which was held in Paris on April 30. On May 1, Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier scheduled a training session, but the Argentine did not attend it, and it turned out that he had left the club’s website without the coach’s permission.
According to the source, if Messi moves to one of the clubs in the Saudi championship, he can get a salary of 400 million euros annually (320 million pounds sterling). Portuguese Victory striker Cristiano Ronaldo earns £165 million. In the near future, representatives of the Saudi government will hold talks with Messi’s father.

Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021 and joined Paris on a free transfer after his contract with Barcelona expired. The 35-year-old Argentine’s agreement with the Parisians expires at the end of the current season. Messi won the Golden Ball seven times, and in December he became the world champion.
