Russian Ministry Prepares Recommendations for Including Artificial Intelligence in Digital Transformation Strategies

The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation is working on providing guidelines for incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into the digital transformation strategies of government departments and companies. According to Maksut Shadayev, the Head of the Ministry, expert groups will be formed to implement AI algorithms in specialized industries, with the involvement of the Ministry of Digital Development and the Alliance in the field of AI.

Methodological Recommendations for AI Implementation

Shadayev revealed that the Ministry is preparing methodological recommendations on how departments and companies can include AI-related tasks in their digital transformation strategies. These recommendations will also define the indicators for evaluating progress. However, Shadayev noted that industry-specific indicators will be determined, as a global index for AI-related progress is not feasible.

Inclusion of AI in State-Owned Departments and Companies

The digital transformation strategies of state-owned departments and companies, as instructed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will include a dedicated section on artificial intelligence. This directive aims to accelerate the implementation of AI and was issued in September, with a deadline for completion set for December 25, 2023.
