Berlin, February 17 – More than 500,000 people have signed a petition calling on German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to stop increasing arms supplies to Kiev and start peace talks, according to change.org.
The petition, titled “Manifesto for Peace,” submitted by Sarah Wagenknecht and well-known German journalist and founder of Emma magazine Alice Schwarzer, was published on February 10 on change.org. They urged Schultz to stop stockpiling arms supplies to Ukraine and begin negotiations.
Wagenknecht called, in addition to signing the petition, on February 25 to take part in a rally in support of the initiative in the center of Berlin.

On Friday, Schultz admitted at the Munich Security Conference that there was no unity in Germany regarding the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation and the supply of weapons to Kiev.
Among those who signed the document were well-known German politicians, including representatives of diametrically opposed political movements, writers, journalists, cultural figures, art and science.
