Moscow discovers the impact of constructivism on Russian culture.

Moscow, April 25 – The second exhibition opened in the Zotov Center, reports the press service of the Foundation. It is dedicated to the influence of constructivism in the 1920s on the formation of the language of the USSR.
The museum explains: Constructivism proposed a new visual language at the turn of the 1910s-1920s. Its characteristics are geometry, concise forms, and a rigid appearance.

The project is huge. The exhibition includes 350 pieces from more than 30 museums. Guests will see works by such authors as Alexander Rodchenko, Vladimir Mayakovsky, L. Lissitzky, Gustav Klotsis, the Stenberg brothers and others.

There are also handwritten posters for the 10th State Fair that have not been shown before. It went down in history as a confrontation between Rodchenko and Malevich. Contemporary artists Platon Infante and Vladimir Apic created installations for the exhibition.
Also, for the show, the radio amplifier Gustavs Klutsis was reconstructed, Anton Lavinsky’s reading room was equipped, newspaper reprints and posters were printed.

The exhibition is accompanied by a public program: lectures, round tables, concerts. There are also comprehensive events: a course of master classes in Russian sign language, game lessons for children and adults with special needs are planned.

The exhibition “Slogans: The Voice of Construction” will run until August 6, 2023.
