MP Urged to Include Code for Bloggers in Activities Directory

MOSCOW, June 29 – First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education Yana Lantratova turned to the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov with a request to include the activities of bloggers in the Directory of Activities (OKVED, All-Russian Classified Types of Economic Activity), it follows from the corresponding letter, which is at the disposal of the News Agency.
Earlier it was reported that deputies of the State Duma are preparing a bill on voluntary registration of bloggers in the media.
“I ask you, dear Maxim Gennadievich, to consider the feasibility of implementing the proposed initiative to amend the Russian classification of economic activities and to present the position of the Ministry on this issue,” Lantratova wrote in her letter.

The deputy notes that this initiative was previously supported by the Ministry of Digital Development, which recognized the need for further study of the issue of regulating the activities of bloggers, including in terms of defining the term “blogger”, with a corresponding letter from Deputy Minister of Digital Development Dmitry Kim attached.
“The proposed action to add a code to OKVED will help maintain the balance between the industry and the state and solve the long-standing problem regarding the legal status of the influencer (blogger). Thus, it becomes possible to implement the instructions of the president (on support for Russian bloggers) and create a record of bloggers who generate expert and constructive content ” – Valery Ritvin, founder of the Council of Bloggers, who brought this issue to the attention of the deputy, told the News Agency.
Lantratova’s appeal indicates that for inclusion in the register, the presence of the proposed OKVED code and the signature of the note “for an honest mark” are prerequisites, while the issue of the registrar and the creation of a monitoring commission for compliance with the provisions of the note is not resolved.
