Moscow, February 5 – Experts have told which countries tourists are choosing for a summer beach holiday this year, OneTwoTrip reports.
The company’s specialists analyzed data on booking airline tickets for the period from May 1 to September 30. Turkey remains the most popular destination for the second year in a row, with 22.6 percent of applications already submitted. Demand for flights increased by 43 percent during the year.
In second place is Thailand, where 5.7 percent of travel documents are held. Last year, the country was not on the list of destinations for summer beach holidays due to coronavirus restrictions, and Greece ranked second with a share of 6.4 percent. It did not reach the top 10 this year.

One of the top three most popular itineraries is the Seychelles, accounting for 5.5 percent of all bookings between May and September. The destination’s demand increased by 2.3 times over the year, which allowed it to rise above last year’s fifth place in the ranking.
Also included in the list of popular summer beach countries this year is the United Arab Emirates, with a rate of 3.9 percent. Interest in holidays in the UAE has increased by 6.5 times over the year. The Maldives, where three percent of tours are booked, ranks fifth. Their share decreased by 20 percent, and the trend moved from third place to slightly lower.
