NASA plans to launch first electric flight in 2023
According to Bill Nelson, head of the US space agency, these planes will be greener and quieter than conventional planes currently in use.
And Bill Nelson announced at a press conference held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, that the X-57 electric aircraft should make its first test flight at the end of 2023.
He said: “We are working on an aircraft with electric motors, and we plan to launch the first flight of this electric aircraft, X-57, this year. This aircraft will be environmentally friendly, quieter and more efficient than the aircraft currently in use.”
It is noteworthy that NASA announced in 2016 the launch of an electric aircraft project, and the first test flight was planned to take place in 2017, but it was repeatedly postponed.
