NATO Considers Nuclear Strike on Ukraine a Direct Attack, Proposed by US Senate

Washington, June 23 – US senators have introduced to the upper house of Congress a resolution that if Russia uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine, this should be regarded as an attack on NATO.

According to him, the adoption of the resolution will be a signal to the leadership of the Russian Federation that the use of nuclear weapons “will lead to war with NATO.”

Graham introduced the resolution with Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal. The document is registered in the conference database.

The decision, even if adopted, will not be binding on the executive branch and will remain merely a recommendation.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the use of nuclear weapons is theoretically possible if a threat to the existence, independence and sovereignty of the Russian state is created. At the same time, the head of state emphasized that nuclear weapons are being created in order to ensure the security of the Russian Federation in the broadest sense of the word, but Russia does not need to use them.

The head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, stated earlier that there is evidence that Kiev may continue to work on a “dirty nuclear bomb”, emphasizing that its possible use will have serious consequences for the life and health of the entire people. Senator Graham was put on the wanted list of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for past anti-Russian statements, and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against him for such statements.
