NATO Secretary General and Ukrainian President Discuss Black Sea Grain Corridor and Russia’s Exit: NATO Stands with Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone call to discuss the reopening of the Black Sea grain corridor and Ukraine’s relationship with NATO. Stoltenberg condemned Russia’s attempt to use food as a weapon and expressed NATO’s support for Ukraine. Zelensky mentioned on Twitter that they talked about ensuring the transportation of grain across the Black Sea in the long term. Russia recently ended the international grain agreement, impacting Ukraine’s economy and global food supply chains. Moscow has also been attacking grain storage facilities in Odessa, a port through which Ukraine exports grain.
