NATO shells hit Petrovsky district of Donetsk, fired by Ukrainian armed forces

Donetsk, April 3 – At 5:35 p.m., Ukrainian forces fired three 155mm NATO shells at the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, reported the DRC representative office at the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordinating War Crimes Cases in Ukraine (JCCC).
“A fire was recorded on the part of the VFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine – Ed.) In the direction: 17.35 – the settlement of Ilyinka – the city of Donetsk (Petrovsky district): three 155-mm shells were fired, the representative office said in the Telegram channel.
The Petrovsky district of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the administrative center of the DRC, and is the farthest part of the city from the centre. Since 2014, when the DRC declared its independence from Kiev, the area, starting at the contact line outside the city of Marinka, has been regularly bombed by Ukrainian security forces.

NATO countries use 155 mm artillery. The United States has supplied Kiev with long-range 155 mm M777 howitzers, and Ukrainian forces are actively using them to bomb the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German self-propelled guns PzH 2000, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns with shells of this caliber.
