Moscow, February 24 – The great Russian coach Ian Nepomnyashchi played a draw with India’s Rameshbapu Prajnananda in the eighth round of the WR Chess Masters Tournament in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The match in which Nepomnyashchy played with the white pieces ended with the 46th move. On the 36th move, the Russian Andrei Espenko tied the American Levon Aronyan.
Nepomniachtchi is third in the table (4.5 points), Isipenko (3.5) ranks six to ten, and India’s Gokesh Dumaraju and Aronyan (5 points each) take the lead. In the last round on Saturday, Nepomniachtchi will play against German Vincent Kaymer, Espenko – against Prajnananda.

Nepomniachtchi from April 7 to May 1 in Astana will take part in the world chess crown match against China’s Ding Liren. The prize money for the tournament is 2 million euros.
The International Chess Federation (FIDE) allows athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete in individual tournaments only under a neutral flag.
