Newcastle secured a massive 6-1 victory over their guest Tottenham Hotspur in a match that brought them together on Sunday’s 32nd round of the Premier League.
The hosts surprised the visiting team by scoring five goals in 21 minutes thanks to Jacob Murphy (two goals), Jolinton and Alexander Isak (two goals) in the 2nd, 9th, 6th, 19th and 21st minutes respectively.
Tottenham scored a face-saving goal in the 49th minute thanks to striker Harry Kane, but Kalium Wilson restored the difference to five goals with Newcastle’s sixth goal in the 67th minute.
According to the statistics network Opta, Newcastle are only the sixth team in the history of the English Premier League to score 3 goals in the first 9 minutes of a match in English competition.
