Moscow, December 29 – The Toronto Maple Leafs have been fined $100,000 by the National Hockey League (NHL).
The reason for the penalties was the team’s trip to St. Louis for an away game against the Blues on December 26. According to Section 16.5(b) of the collective agreement between the league and the NHL Players Association (NHLPA), December 24-26 are public holidays, so travel for any team is prohibited.
