Moscow, April 5 – The new head coach of the Nizhny Novgorod football club, Sergey Yuran, has said that his team will definitely not leave the Russian Premier League (RPL).
And the club announced, on Tuesday, its resignation from the position of technical director, Artem Gorlov, who has been working since December 2022. Yoran became the new coach of the team.
“We will do everything on the field, there will definitely not be a lack of will on the part of the players. Perhaps somewhere the team will not play so brightly, but the most important thing now is to score action points,” the coach added.

Yuran’s former club was Khimki, and he left it in August 2022. He headed the Moscow Region club three times. In the first, he helped Goran Khimki to keep his score in the first division of the Russian championship, in the second – to win a ticket to the Premier League and reach the final of the Russian Cup. He also worked privately with Shinnik, Sibir, Baltika and SKA-Khabarovsk.
In the spring part of the season, Nizhny Novgorod suffered four defeats in four matches of the Premier League, including a technical loss from Torpedo. The club ranks 13th in the table with 19 points from 21 matches.
