Moscow, April 7 – National Basketball Association (NBA) Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen plans to serve in the Finnish Army during the off-season.
The recruitment age in Finland is between 18 and 30 years. The minimum service life in Finland is 165 days.
Utah State ranks 12th in the NBA Western Conference standings with 36 wins in 79 games.

Markkanen was selected seventh overall by Minnesota in 2017. Since then, he has played for Chicago and Cleveland, and has represented Utah since September 2022. In February, he participated in the NBA All-Star Game.
