On the Fifth Day of Bolivarian Games, Russia Secures Ten Gold Medals

Moscow, April 27 – The Russian national team took 19 medals on the fifth competitive day at the Games of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas (ALBA), which is being held in Venezuela.
This day was the first time that medals were played with the participation of Russian athletes. In total, the Russians won ten gold, six silver and three bronze medals.
Gold for the Russian national team was brought by the men’s (Nikita Artemenko, Dmitry Vinogradov, Savely Kizimov) and women’s (Elizabeth Abrahamyan, Olga Vorobyeva, Yana Noskova) teams of table tennis, boxers Sergey Slobodyan (weight category up to 92 kg), Alexei Skomorokha (up to 71 kg) ), Azalia Amineva (up to 66 kg), Anastasia Shamonova (up to 75 kg), Ekaterina Paltseva (up to 50 kg), weightlifter Oleg Musokhranov (up to 61 kg), karateka Konstantin Kokovorov (over 84 kg), Anna Chernysheva (up to 55 kg).

Boxers Ruslan Perov (up to 57 kg), Stanislav Maksychenko (up to 63.5 kg), Daria Abramova (up to 57 kg), Nadezhda Golubeva (up to 60 kg), weightlifters Elizaveta Zatkina (up to 49 kg) and Alexandra Meshkova became silver medalists. (up to 68 kg). Boxers Arthur Nagapetyan (up to 51 kg), Mikhail Usov (up to 80 kg) and Karina Tazabekova (up to 54 kg) won the bronze.
The Games of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas will be held from April 21 to 29 in Caracas and La Guaira (Venezuela). At competitions, Russian athletes perform under the national flag as special guests of the tournament. In total, the delegation of the Russian national team included 48 athletes. More than 3,500 athletes from 11 countries take part in the Games.
