Ordering of 1 Billion Rubles from Eastern Shipyard by FSB

Moscow, March 14 – The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation filed two lawsuits with the Moscow Arbitration Court, demanding the recovery of more than 1.1 billion rubles from the amount of Vladivostok JSC Vostochnaya Verf, which had previously applied to the court with a statement of its bankruptcy from the information contained in the file of arbitration cases.
FSB claims in the amount of about 575 million rubles and more than 550 million rubles were submitted to the court on March 13, but they have not yet been accepted for consideration. In the court materials, the reasons for the claims are not reported at the moment.
Vostochnaya Verf is one of the leading shipbuilders in the Far East. Specializes in the construction of warships, supply ships and anchors for the Pacific Fleet and the Russian Federal Security Service. In October 2022, the company filed for bankruptcy with the Primorsky Territory Arbitration Court. It has not been validated by the court.

Promsvyazbank, one of the creditors of Eastern Shipyard, asked for interim measures in the bankruptcy case in the form of a ban on any registration actions with all the company’s real estate, but the court rejected this request in December.
Earlier, an industry source told the News Agency that the company’s annual report for 2021 mentioned a significant loss and lack of funds to pay its own obligations. According to the agency’s interlocutor, at the end of 2021, the shipyard’s passive assets exceeded several billion rubles. The Primorye authorities stated that the shipyard is fulfilling existing commercial contracts for shipbuilding on schedule and is ready to meet new orders.
