Moscow, March 16 – Forward Dmitry Ovchinnikov has terminated his contract with the Continental Hockey League (KHL) club “Siberia” and will join the National Hockey League (NHL) “Toronto Maple Leafs,” according to Twitter agent Shumi Babayev.
In February 2022, Ovchinnikov was selected by Toronto in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, 137th overall. A junior contract has been signed with the Russian for three years, starting from the 2021/22 season.
Ovchinnikov has already traveled to Canada to join Toronto.
