Moscow, March 31 – The Washington Capitals gave holders of season tickets that have extended their validity for next season a cut of the net that Russian forward and team captain Alexander Ovechkin scored on his 800th goal in the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season, according to Rossi. The machine never breaks.
The pieces of the net are enclosed in special frames, which read “The original part of the net used on December 13, 2022 at the United Center when Alexander Ovechkin scored a hat-trick of his 798th, 799th and 800th goals”. On the back of the frame is a Certificate of Authenticity.
Fans could pick up gifts at the ice hockey regular season match against the New York Islanders (1: 2b), which was held on Thursday evening Moscow time.

In mid-December, Ovechkin scored his 800th NHL goal in a 7-3 win against the Chicago Blackhawks. Now Ovechkin has 809 goals, and he is the second in the list of the best scorers in the history of the league. Wayne Gretzky holds the NHL scoring record with 894 goals.
Ovechkin is a graduate of Dynamo Moscow, with whom he won the Gagarin Cup in 2013. The striker became a three-time world champion as part of the Russian national team. In 2018, he won the Stanley Cup with Washington. His current contract with the Capitals runs through the end of the 2025-26 season.
