Overconsumption of Vitamin D can have severe repercussions, warns Doctor
Russian nutritionist and cosmetologist Mariat Mukhina said that increasing the level of vitamin D in the body can lead to impaired kidney function.
The expert points out that increasing the level of vitamins or their deficiency in the body is dangerous to health. The lack of vitamins can be compensated by the foods we eat. However, its high level leads to its accumulation in the organs of the body in the form of dangerous calcareous deposits, since calcification of the aorta, for example, can lead to its rupture.
According to her, the symptoms of this condition include vomiting, thirst, dehydration, sleep disturbance, constipation, joint pain and loss of appetite.
In addition, an excess of vitamin D in the body can adversely affect the functioning of the kidneys and impair their function. It can also lead to chronic pyelonephritis, hardening of the heart muscle, and an increased risk of fractures. Also, an excess of this vitamin can affect the hormonal system. Therefore, such patients are prescribed a specific diet and hormones to remove excess vitamin from the body.
And Mukhina adds, it is observed in infants with an increase in vitamin D, the fontanel closes prematurely, which leads to an increase in intracranial pressure. Children who have undergone hypervitaminosis also have a developmental delay and suffer from vegetative-vascular dystonia.
According to her, in order to compensate for the lack of vitamin D in the body, cod, rich in this vitamin, must be added to the daily diet in addition to the daily requirement of the body for vitamins A and E. Herring also contains a high percentage of vitamin D, equivalent to twice as much salmon, mackerel and butter. Egg yolk is also rich in vitamin D.
