Paris Saint-Germain beat Marseille in a historic matchup for Mbappe and Messi.
The Paris Saint-Germain club achieved a valuable and big victory at the expense of their rival and hosts Marseille with three unanswered on Sunday at the summit of the 25th stage of the French league.
The trilogy of the Paris team, French international striker Kylian Mbappe scored “two goals” and Argentine star Lionel Messi in the 25th, 29th and 55th minutes.
Messi and Mbappé had an exceptional night in Marseille where Messi scored his 700th goal of his club career.
As for Mbappe, he increased his tally to 17 goals, becoming the top scorer in the French league this season after 25 rounds of competition.
Mbappe also became the Paris team’s historic goalscorer, scoring his 200th goal, equaling his former Uruguayan counterpart Edinson Cavani, who joined Manchester United in the summer of 2020.
Saint-Germain increased his lead to 60 points, cementing his position at the top of the league and extending the gap between him and second-placed Marseille to eight points.
