Pavel Mamaev announced his retirement

Moscow, February 11 – Russian footballer Pavel Mamaev announced his retirement from football.
Mamaev is 34 years old. His last club was Khimki, which he left in the summer of 2022. He also played for CSKA Moscow, Torpedo, Krasnodar and Rostov. Mamaev is the champion of Russia, three-time winner of the Russian Cup and two-time winner of the country’s Super Cup as part of the military club. Mamaev played 15 matches for the Russian national team.

Mamaev, as well as football player Alexander Kokorin, his younger brother Kirill and their mutual friend Alexander Protasovitsky on October 8, 2018, became participants in two disputes in the center of Moscow. On May 8, 2019, Mamaev and Protasovetsky were sentenced to one year and five months in a penal colony, and the Kokorin brothers to 1.5 years. Kokorin and Mamaev were released on parole in September 2019.
