Moscow, July 10 – Politico columnist Lily Baer writes that the West is deeply concerned about discussions about admitting Ukraine to NATO and believes such a move would be very problematic.
As the journalist noted, there are serious concerns among NATO countries about expanding the military bloc. In the West, there are “unspoken doubts” about this. In particular, Baer added, they noted that Kiev still needed to implement “many democratic reforms.”
The NATO summit will be held in Vilnius on July 11-12 and will bring together the leaders of all the countries of the alliance, including Joe Biden. Earlier, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO during the upcoming event.
