OpenSea has unveiled OpenSea Pro, a cutting-edge marketplace designed to cater to the growing market of professional NFT traders and compete with competitors such as the fee-free Blur platform.

OpenSea, a prominent NFT marketplace, has announced the launch of OpenSea Pro, an advanced trading platform designed for professional NFT traders.

The move follows competitor Blur’s rapid growth in the no-fee NFT market. OpenSea Pro is a modified version of Gem v2, an NFT aggregation platform that OpenSea acquired in April 2022 to provide professional trading tools to its users.

Without a fee, OpenSea Pro will aggregate listings from 170 markets, and offer traders the best deals. The platform will support advanced floor sweeping, spot sales, inventory management, gas fee optimization for efficient trading, watchlist functionality, and more. It will also be available on mobile devices.

OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer credits Gem’s technology for helping develop OpenSea Pro into the most efficient NFT trading tool available. Finzer praised the platform for its speed and real-time capabilities, which provide a fast user experience for NFT purchases.

OpenSea faced stiff competition from Blur, which led the company to eliminate creator fees to attract traders. With the launch of OpenSea Pro, the company is recharging the creator fee on its main platform by 2.5%. Finzer confirmed that the proceeds from these fees will be reinvested into furthering the NFT space.

Despite introducing OpenSea Pro amidst fierce competition with Blur, Finzer rest assured that OpenSea will continue to prioritize retail traders and creators by focusing on partnerships, initial projections, and smart contract standards.

The company aims to make it easier for first-time users to explore and purchase NFTs while driving forward the use cases for NFTs. OpenSea envisions graduating users from the main platform to a more professional experience with OpenSea Pro.
