Proposal to Establish Tourist Offices in Russia and Vietnam by Chernyshenko

Hanoi, April 6 – Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko proposed opening Vietnamese tourist offices in Russia and Russian offices in Vietnam. He stated this, speaking on Thursday in Hanoi at the opening of the 24th plenary meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese State Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
“We consider it important to increase the joint tourist flow, to develop the hospitality industry. To this end, we propose to open national tourism offices in Russia and Vietnam on a joint basis,” said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. This step, according to him, will allow the establishment of partnerships between the profile companies of the two countries, and create opportunities for the exchange of experiences, joint training of personnel, and will also increase joint interest in tourist trips.
According to the results of last year, about 30 thousand Russians visited Vietnam for tourism purposes.

In the pre-pandemic year of 2019, the number of Russian tourists who arrived in Vietnam in organized groups and individually through travel companies exceeded 600 thousand people. Currently, tourism exchanges are difficult due to the lack of direct flights between the two countries.
