PUBG Update 2.53: Map Service Changes, Live Server Updates, and New Features
PUBG Update 2.53 has been released for all platforms and is now available for download on PC. The update brings several bug fixes, improvements, and patch notes. The file size may vary depending on the gaming platform you are using. So if you’re playing PUBG, make sure to update to version 2.53 to experience the latest enhancements and fixes.
PUBG Update 2.53 – Map Service Changes
Map changes for PUBG will now occur every Wednesday at 2 AM UTC for PC players and every Thursday at 7 AM UTC for console players. Please note the following adjustments to the map pool rotation:
Week 1
- Map select: Erangel, Taego, Deston, Sanhok, Karakin
- Random Map: Rondo (selectable), Erangel, Taego, Deston, Karakin
- PC: January 10th – January 17th
- Console: January 18th – January 25th
Week 2
- Map select: Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, Sanhok, Paramo
- Random Map: Rondo (40%), Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, Sanhok
- PC: January 17th – January 24th
- Console: January 25th – February 1st
Week 3
- Map select: Erangel, Taego, Deston, Sanhok, Karakin
- Random Map: Rondo (40%), Erangel, Taego, Deston, Paramo
- PC: January 24th – January 31st
- Console: February 1st – February 8th
Week 4
- Map select: Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, Sanhok, Paramo
- Random Map: Rondo (40%), Erangel, Miramar, Vikendi, Karakin

Ranked
- Ranked map rotation: Erangel (30%), Miramar (30%), Taego (30%), Deston (10%)
- Map service for Ranked will be updated on a season-by-season basis.
World: Rondo
New Feature: Market
- Rondo now has Markets where players can purchase in-game items.
- BR Coins: In-game currency used exclusively in the Markets.
- BR Coins can be collected as world-spawn items, rewards for in-game challenges, by defeating Pillar Guards, or by selling inventory items at the Market.
- Coins can be dropped to the ground with no weight.
- Markets come in three grades (I, II, III) and offer different categories of items.
- Grade I: Item Shop and Garage or Item Shop and Random Item.
- Grade II: Item Shop, Weapons Dealer, Random Item.
- Grade III: Item Shop, Weapons Dealer, Random Item.
- Higher grade Markets offer higher quality items and a broader selection.
- Garage: Certain Grade I Markets have associated garages that hold the exclusive Pillar UAZ vehicle.
- Pillar UAZ: The exclusive vehicle of the Market’s Garage.
- Pillar Guards: Formidable protectors of Grade III Market locations.
- Safes: Found in buildings across the map, players can unlock safes to acquire Gold Bars, which can be traded for BR Coins.
- In-Game Challenges: Players can now engage in challenges in Rondo to earn rewards.
Emergency Cover Flare
- Throwable item that provides on-demand defense.
- Upon use, three sturdy Emergency Cover airdrops are deployed from the sky to the flare’s location.
- Emergency Cover airdrops can destroy obstacles, extinguish flames, and emit smoke.
- Available at the Item Shop and as a world-spawn item.
Battle Ready Kit:
- Market-exclusive heal and boost item available for purchase at the Item Shop.
- When used, it completely replenishes health and boost gauge after 8 seconds.
- Cannot be used using the usual shortcuts for heal/boost items.
Spawn Changes in Rondo
- Several items and vehicles have been removed from Rondo’s spawn list, while the spawn rates for other valuables have increased.
World: Erangel
- Traces leading to Rondo have vanished from the Erangel map.
Blizzard Zone & Sandstorm Changes:
- Blizzard Zone: Frequency and duration of occurrence reduced, and impact limited to Phase 4.
- Sandstorm: General size reduced, sound slightly reduced, and no longer inflicts damage.
Gameplay Changes
- Killfeed: Team numbers are now visible in streamer mode, even with the “Hide Nicknames in Killfeed” option enabled.
- Social: Introducing PUBG ID, which replaces the in-game profile. Player Memo feature allows leaving personal notes on friends or Clan members.
- Custom Match: Options for the new features introduced in World: Rondo have been added.
- Survivor Pass: Dragon’s Rise: A new Survivor Pass for the Year of the Dragon.
UX/UI Changes
- G-COIN: Added in-game information about G-COIN status, including regular/bonus distinction and expiration dates.
- Workshop: New item sets added to the Hunter’s Chest and Archivist’s Chest.
Performance Improvements
- Optimized memory regarding character outfits and animations.
- Improved performance in crowded situations and when viewing a large number of buildings.
- Optimized destructible bamboo logics for better performance.
Bug Fixes
- Various bug fixes related to gameplay, UX/UI, and item/skin issues
