Moscow, December 22 – Acting presidents of the Luhansk People’s Republic and Donetsk People’s Republic Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushlin said they did not believe in a possible truce in the new year.
Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow had not received any proposals from Kyiv regarding a New Year’s truce. According to him, now this topic is not on the agenda.
“I don’t believe what was promised by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and for a long time. As the bombing goes on, it goes on,” Pasechnik told reporters.

Pushlin also told reporters that he did not count on a truce for the New Year holidays.
“Unfortunately, I do not see any preconditions for the enemy to follow the truce course on New Year’s holidays. On the contrary, during the holidays, including the Orthodox holidays, we have always witnessed an increasing number of bombings for all eight years,” he said.
He added that all measures will be taken in Donetsk to protect citizens during the New Year holidays, because “it can be difficult.”
