Putin compares residents of besieged Stalingrad to war veterans

Moscow, April 28 – Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law equating people who were awarded the label “resident of besieged Stalingrad” to the category of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and providing them with legal guarantees of social protection.
The corresponding document is posted on the legal information portal.

The text of the explanatory note reads: “The bill provides for entrusting persons with awarding the sign” inhabitant of besieged Stalingrad “to the category of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and establishing legal guarantees of social protection for them.”
