Putin Expresses Joy at Pushlin’s Visit to Donbass

Donetsk, March 19 – Acting President of the DRC Denis Pushlin called the visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Donetsk People’s Republic on the anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia symbolically in his telegram channel.
The Kremlin said Putin flew to Mariupol by helicopter, then drove around several districts of the city and stopped. He was accompanied on the trip by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khosnullin. It was about building small neighborhoods, social and educational facilities, and medical facilities. In the Nevsky microdistrict, Putin talked with the townspeople. He also examined the coast of Mariupol. During a trip around the city, the president was driving, Khosnulin talked about restoring the city.
“It is not for nothing that the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin visited the Donetsk People’s Republic on the anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. The return of Crimea and Donbass are links in the same chain. All these years we have argued that our journey home is longer, and now we are, with Crimea , in one family of the peoples of Russia. And, of course, we are very glad to see our president in Donbass, ”Pushlin wrote on his Telegram channel.

Referendums on the entry of the DRC, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the Russian Federation were held on September 23-27, 2022. According to the results of processing 100% of the votes in the DRC, 99.23% of those who voted for joining the Russian Federation, in the LPR – 98.42%, In the Kherson region – 87.05%, in the Zaporizhia region – 93.11%. On September 30, Putin spoke in the Kremlin after the results of referendums in the DRC, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, after which he signed agreements with their superiors on the admission of regions to Russia.
Crimea became a Russian region in March 2014 after the referendum that followed the coup in Ukraine. In the 2014 referendum, 96.77% of voters in Crimea and 95.6% in Sevastopol were in favor of joining Russia. Ukraine still considers Crimea to be its temporarily occupied territory, and many Western countries support Kiev on this issue. For its part, the Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the people of Crimea voted for democratic reunification with Russia, in full compliance with international law and the UN Charter. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Crimea issue has been “permanently closed.”
